Measuring Your Windows

First you must decide if you should purchase your window tinting film by the roll or if you should purchase pre-cut kits.

Window Tinting Film by the Roll

  1. Films purchased by the roll can save you money. If you are good at measuring and cutting then this option is probably good for you.
  2. Window tinting film rolls come in various widths and lengths so you will have to determine the total number of square feet of film to purchase to meet the needs of your project.
  3. We recommend measuring all of the windows you are going to tint first. Write down the measurements for each window starting with the largest to the smallest and pay particular attention to the width of your windows. You will need the width dimension to determine the width of the roll you need to purchase. You don't want to find out later that the width of the roll is not wide enough for your window.
  4. Next you want to determine the total square feet of film you will need for your project. Multiply each of your window dimensions (width X height) then add all of them together to determine the total square feet of film you will need. This is extremely important since you don't want to purchase less film than you will need for your project.
  5. When it's time to place your order pick the roll width and length you will need to cover to total square feet of your project. IMPORTANT: A good rule of thumb is to add 10% to the overall square inches of film you need since there is always some waste for trimming.

Window Tinting Film Pre-Cut Kits

  1. If you don't want to go through the cutting for each window you are going to tint then this is the best option for you since we will cut the film to match each of your windows.
  2. Measure each of the windows you are going to tint and write down the dimensions. Make certain that you add an additional inch to your width and height dimensions for each window. This will give you the extra film necessary for trimming during installation.
  3. We have made purchasing pre-cut kits easy by providing a pull down menu where you select the width and height of each window you are going to tint. We will cut and label each of your individual window films for easy identification when you receive your order. NOTE: You must call out each window using our form with the added 1" dimensions so you will have a slightly oversized piece of film for trimming.

Car Window Tinting Kits

  1. You do not have to measure you car or truck windows since automotive kits are pre-determined by the make and model of you vehicle.
